Abstract
1,203,800. Electromechanical filters. MURATA MFG. CO., Ltd. 5 Oct., 1967 [13 Oct., 1966], No. 45362/67. Heading H3U. A bandpass filter comprises a disc 21 of electro-strictive ceramic material, e.g. barium titanate or lead zirconate titanate, provided on its opposite faces with pairs of electrodes 22, 24 and 23, 25 forming resonators 26, 27. The disc material between the electrode pairs is polarized in the direction P so that the resonators operate in the thickness expansion mode. The distance d between the resonators 26. 27 is made sufficiently small to ensure their mechanical coupling through the disc material. The external circuits A, B and C, Dare connected through leads 28, 29 and 30, 31 to the respective electrodes through terminals such as terminal 22<SP>1</SP>.
