Abstract

A draining board or a bench top is formed by applying a flat sheet of laminate material to the surface of a fluted board, withdrawing the air between the laminate and the board to cause the laminate to assume the contours of the flutes and adhering the laminate to the board. The air is withdrawn through holes 22 in the flutes of the board. The flutes are formed by filling the spaces between broad wedges 16, which taper in thickness, with wedges 20 the upper surfaces of which lie below the level of wedges 16.
