Abstract
1,202,997. Controlling clutches; hydraulic brakes. GOSUDARSTVENNY SOUZNY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKY TRAKTORNY INSTITUT. 21 Aug., 1968, No. 39996/68. Headings F2D, F2F and F2L. An hydraulic control for clutches 2, 3, e.g. in a tractor transmission, or for clutches and brakes in a planetary gear set, (not further described), comprises a distributer valve 11 connecting a fluid inlet 16 to one or other of fluid lines 18, 19 delivering fluid to the clutch cylinders to engage the clutches, and a spring accumulator 12 connected by a change-over valve 13 to whichever clutch, e.g. 2, as shown, is engaged, and operative, on rotating the distributor valve 11 to engage the other clutch, to maintain the first clutch engaged until the other clutch is engaged, when supply pressure in line 19 switches changeover valve 13 to recharge the accumulator. The clutch cylinders are exhausted through lines 18, 19 and outlet 17 in the valve 11. Again, Fig. 2, (not shown), four clutches are controlled, a further changeover valve (30) being inserted between the delivery lines (34), (35), of the two additional clutches (28), (29), and a third changeover valve (31) being inserted between the two valves (13), (30) and the accumulator (12). The changeover valve (31) comprises a floating piston (45) and two sleeves (43), (44) urged by springs (41), (42) away from the ends of the valve to abut fixed shoulders in the valve and the piston (45) to reduce the period during which two clutches are engaged. A stop cock (46) between the valve (31) and accumulator (12) is manually operated by a lever to disengage all clutches immediately if desired when the distributer valve (11) is moved to neutral. A one-way valve (48) connects the fluid inlet (16) to the accumulator (12). Again, Fig. 3, (not shown), two forward and two reverse clutches (2), (3) and (49), (50) are controlled by three identical changeover valves (13), (30) and (31) and an accumulator (12) connected to a further accumulator (56) by a restriction (58) and parallel one-way valve (59), the accumulator (56) discharging only after accumulator (12). The cross-section of outlet (17) is not constant, and the clutch supply lines (18), (19) and (51), (52) are not equally distributed around the valve (11), so that on changing from forward to reverse, both accumulators must be discharged before reverse gear is engaged.
