Abstract
1,202,861. Lasers. INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO. Ltd. 24 July, 1967 [11 May, 1966; 9 June, 1966], Nos. 20837/66 and 25793/66. Heading H1C. The suitability of an animal body for use as food is investigated by placing it in a divergent laser beam, and recording the light transmitted on a screen or photographic plate, so indicating the selective absorption of the beam by different parts of the body. Light from a ruby red laser (6943 A) or a gas laser (6328 A) is suitable for investigating the vascular system of the body, and from an argon laser (5145 A) or a nitrogen laser (4000-4300 Š) for investigating muscular or bone structure.
