Abstract

1,202,735. Street lamps. SAAB AB. 5 Oct., 1967 [12 Oct., 1966], No. 45373/67. Heading F4R. To prevent oscillation due to wind pressure on a light fitting 3 carried by an arm 2 projecting laterally from a lamp post, elements such as planar plates 7 inclined to the axis of the fitting are arranged at intervals along it. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 3 (not shown), cooperating flanges are provided both on the upper part 4 of the fitting and on the cover 5 and are so shaped that they combine to form a spiral along the fitting. In a further arrangement, elements are provided which extend along the length of the sides of the casing substantially parallel therewith but spaced therefrom.
