Abstract

1,201,169. Aminocarboxylic acids. ROHM & HAAS G.m.b.H. 9 Jan., 1969 [12 Jan., 1968], No. 1331/69. Heading C2C. α-Aminocarboxylic acids are prepared by reacting a hydantoin with ammonia and water at 120-220‹ C. at super-atmospheric pressure, the reacting being effected for a period of at least one hour. The hydantoin may be substituted in the 5-position.
