[Also in Divisions B1 and B2] An air filter is flame-proofed and rendered adhesive to dust by applying an emulsion of two parts water (by volume) with one part of a mixture of trieresyl phosphate and gelling additive, which may be chlorinated paraffin, and drying off the water by heating. This process is applied after washing and drying the filter, on site. The filter may be a metal impingement filter or may comprise two layers of polyurethane foam of different density, sandwiching a reinforcing mesh and flame-laminated together. The mixture is defined in terms of flashpoint and viscosity.
