Abstract

1,199,415. Card indexes. TWINLOCK Ltd. 25 Aug., 1967 [2 Sept., 1966], No. 39370/66. Heading B6E. A device for holding cards in overlapping formation comprises a pair of spaced parallel guides 12, and a number of bridge pieces 14 slidable along the guides, the bridge pieces being constructed so that when two of them abut they define between them a slot in which a card 22 can be received with projecting ears 23 at the ends of its upper edge supported on the ends of the slot. Each bridge-piece 14 comprises a transverse part 15 with flanges 16, the flanges having ridges 17 which engage grooves 13 in the guides 12. The guides 12 are fixed to a baseplate 10 which may be suspended on a wall. The transverse parts 15 are inclined at an angle to the base-plate 10, so that with the bridge-pieces in abutting relationship, the edges 20, 21 define a slot between each pair of pieces 14 in which a card 22 can be received and its projecting ears supported by the ends of the slot, so that the upper margins of the cards are exposed. The' bridge-pieces 14 are made of flexible plastic material so that they can be sprung into the guides 12. A number of holders may be mounted side-by-side and so as to be slidable horizontally.
