Abstract

1,198,860. Packaging. WILKIE & PAUL Ltd. 22 Oct., 1968 [28 Dec., 1967], No. 58764/67. Heading B8C. A spacer-package, e.g. for bottles comprises a flat member 10 having curved faces 13, 14 which embrace the bottles 16 when folded. It may be of moulded plastics. In Fig. 1, the member is folded at 11 so that spines 17 abut each other to produce a spacer, Fig. 3, for use in a container 12. Articles of various shapes may be accommodated. In a modification, Fig. 4, the package may have additional curved faces 13a, 14a, spaced from the central part by platforms 20, 21 on which the bottles stand when the curved faces are folded to embrace them (Fig. 5, not shown). This assembly may be shrink-wrapped, if desired. Automatic packing may be employed.
