Apparatus removing lint from looms, ceilings and floors in weaving sheds comprises a plurality of blowing units arranged over the looms and traversed along each bay of the shed, the units being oscillated transversely of the looms as they are traversed so that the air streams over adjacent looms do not interfere with each other. The looms 10 are arranged in rows and units 30 are suspended above each row from a bridge 20. The bridge is traversed along rails 21, 22 by a reversible motor. During forward travel at a relatively slow speed air from a blower 37 issues from outlets 38 of the units 30 and a cam and lever mechanism (44, 48, Fig. 4) oscillates one of the units while links 40 ensure that all the units oscillate in synchronism. In a modification a separate motor (55, Fig. 8) crank disc (56) and connecting rod (58) replace the cam 44 for oscillating the units 30. At the end of the forward traverse a limit shaft (73, Fig. 8) engages a stop and the motor is reversed. The reverse traverse of the bridge is made at a faster speed and air is supplied to nozzles 60 directed towards the ceiling and is cut off from the units 30. A linkage connected to the limit shaft changes over a valve in the air supply to the units 30 and nozzles 60 when the limit shaft engages a stop at either end of the travel of the bridge. The nozzles 60 rotate as the air issues therefrom. The lint blown from the looms and ceilings collects on the floor and is removed by a suction head 85 suspended from the bridge and traversing the aisles 15-19. Suction is applied to the heads 85 during both forward and reverse travel.
