Abstract

1,197,091. Cutting and handling foodstocks. CUNNINGHAM ENTERPRISES Ltd. 5 Sept., 1967 [6 Sept., 1966], No. 40594/67. Heading A4C. Apparatus for handling ensilage comprises circular saw cutting means 26 for forming a transverse cut in a stack of ensilage and rake means 12, Fig. 3, having teeth 14 for moving the cut material on to a conveyer 8. The rake means 12 are moved with a combined rotary and reciprocal action by motor 24 through chain drives to eccentrics 13, 13a or by crank means (not shown). The whole assembly is mounted on a gantry 2 so that it can be moved up and down, the gantry being arranged for lateral movement across a support platform 3 having retractable wheels 6 for transport purposes.
