[Also in Divisions B4, B5 and C3] A moulded methyl methacrylate resin denture plate comprising a polymerised mixture of methyl methacrylate polymer and methyl methacrylate monomer in which there is embedded from 0.1-10% by weight of vein-simulating short length strands of non-plasticised fibres of polyvinyl chloride having an AFNOR index greater than 450, said polyvinyl chloride fibre having a length between 3/32 and 7/8 inch and being from 3-10 denier is made by mixing the fibres of polyvinyl chloride with pearls of methyl methacrylate polymer and liquid monomer, flattening the dough formed, cutting out and applying strips over the buccal and labial surfaces of a denture mould and curing at a temperature of 160-212‹F. The methyl methacrylate polymer may be plasticised with 5% dibutyl phthalate and the resin mixture may also contain 3-4% of a butadiene-styrene copolymer The mixture may also contain dyes for the resin.
