Abstract

1,195,754. Rectifying; control of D.C. motors. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP. 29 Jan., 1968 [13 Feb., 1967], No. 4484/68. Headings H2F and H2J. In a polyphase rectifier circuit, out of sequence firing of the converting elements is suppressed by an arrangement which includes at least one toroid 1L ... 6L of ferro-magnetic material encircling the anode cathode path of each converter element. The toroids, in conjunction with CR networks 30C, 30R prevent abrupt potential rises across the anode cathode path of the elements during commutation. The arrangement is employed in a converter of the type described in Specification 1,193,235 for supplying D.C. of either polarity to a motor MO.
