Abstract

119,547. Stocks, H. B. Oct. 11, 1917. Addition to 19113/14. Foot-cycles or scooters are fitted with treadle driving-gear comprising a lever D having a toothed quadrant d which drives the road wheel through the medium of a pinion C, ratchet-wheel c, and a pawl b upon the road wheei. The lever may be pivoted in front of the wheel axle and the quadrant be toothed externally, as shown; or the lever may be pivoted behind the wheel axle and the quadrant toothed internally. One or more intermediate pinions may be introduced between the quadrant and the pinion C. The gear may be applied to the construction cf footboard described in Specification 118,356.
