Abstract

1,195,399. Number senders. C.I.T.-COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELECOMMUNICATIONS. 31 July, 1967 [29 July, 1966], No. 35090/67. Heading H4K. In a keyboard device for dialling by impedance variation, operation of at least one key displaces a pair of code bars each of which inserts a corresponding resistor across the line. As shown, operation of say key 5 displaces an associated pair of perpendicular code bars H2 and V2 closing corresponding contacts t<SP>1</SP> 2 and t 4 thus inserting a resistance R2 and its series diode D<SP>1</SP> and a resistance R4 and its series diode D across the line AB. The diodes are oppositely poled so that by reversing the current from the exchange the inserted resistances can be individually measured. A11 other keys, except the key 9 which displaces a single bar closing a single contact t 1 and connecting the resistor R1 directly across the line, operate in a similar manner. Each key opens a contact r to disconnect the receiver during dialling.
