Abstract

1,194,396. Sieve drum driers. VEPA A.G. 10 Nov., 1967 [19 Dec. 1966], No. 51185/67. Heading F4G. [Also in Division D1] An apparatus for drying, curing, setting or steaming textile materials comprises a housing consisting of heat insulating panels and containing one or more sieve drums 15, one wall of the housing being subdivided so that the or each drum 15 has associated therewith an upper door 8, a middle metal plate 5 and a lower door 9, the driving gear 6 for each drum being carried on the metal plate associated with the drum. A metal plate 5 may be common to two or more drums. The plates 5 may be provided with a heat insulating layer on their inner surfaces. The other wall of the housing may comprise doors 13, 14 and sections 10 carrying the fans 11 and drives 12 therefor. The apparatus also comprises heaters 23. Air may be withdrawn from or forced into the drums 15.
