Abstract

1,193,874. X-ray fluorescence analysers. CARL ZEISS JENA VEB. 26 May, 1967, No. 19162/67. Heading H5P. An X-ray fluorescence analyser includes two sequence-type spectrometer systems having collimators 4 and 5, specimen holders 2 and 3, analysing crystals 6 and 7, and detectors 8 and 9, and two X-ray tubes 1 and 10 with their heaters connected in series and their anodes connected in parallel to the high tension supply, electrical control means stabilizing the ratio of the anode currents of the two tubes at a value which balances the intensities of the tubes, whereby a test specimen and a standard specimen may be simultaneously compared and the use of a calibration curve dispensed with. The spectrometer systems have aligned axles which may be disconnected from one another to permit independent operation.
