Abstract

1,193,132. Filing papers. R. BRINKMANN TO BROXTEN. 27 June, 1967 [15 July, 1966], No. 29505/67. Heading B6E. A document filing apparatus comprises a line of containers 1 slidable on rails so that an access space 6 may be obtained between a pair of adjacent containers, each container 1 having a first means for suspending documents in vertically-spaced rows I . . . V transverse to the line of containers, and a similar second means 7 movable transversely to the line and above the first means. The first means consists of two parallel rods for each row I. . . V, one higher than the other, on which document holders are suspended so that they have an outwardly inclined face. Partitions are provided to divide each row into e.g. three sections. Each second means has a length equal to one of these sections and has suspension rods fixed to a tubular framing 8 which is slidable on the base of its container 1 transversely to the line of containers. If each row is divided into three sections, two second means may be provided and can be moved transversely to the line of containers to expose various parts of the underlying fixed means. The containers 1 may have handles 5 for moving them, and actuation of a handle may release brake means holding the container stationary.
