Abstract

1,192,907. Assembling screws and washers. MOORFEED CORP. 3 April, 1969, No. 17566/69. Heading B8A. Screws 38 are introduced into vibrating bowl 12 (Fig. 1) and ascend the track 42 which then passes on to the outside of the bowl 12 to present screws at position 58 (Fig. 2). Washers 36 are introduced into the annular pan 32 secured to the outside of bowl 12 and move up track 16 so that they present themselves at position 48 at which a screw falls onto a washer beneath it and the two form a unit which is discharged at 88 to thread rolling apparatus 40. Discharge of unwanted screws and washers.- At the position 48 (Fig. 6) the track conveys the mixture of single screws, single washers, and screw-washer units, which move rightwards towards the track 88. The track at this position has its inward portion cut away. Thus when a washer 36 moves past position 62 it is unsupported inwards and falls downwards as shown back into pan 32. A single screw 38 passes the position 62 but at 76 is unsupported inwardly and falls down shoot 84 back into the bowl. The screw washer units pass rightwards and are discharged.
