[Also in .Division C2] A nematocidal composition comprises as active ingredient a compound of formula wherein R and R<SP>3</SP> are C 1 to C 6 hydrocarbon. or R is benzyl, R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are C 1 to C 4 alkyl and X is O or S, with the proviso that when X is O, R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are each ethyl. Typical o,o-diethyl o-(1,2-dihydro -2-keto-1 ,6-dihydrocarbyl-4-pyridyl) phosphorothionates and phosphates are specified.
