Abstract
119,246. Hansen, J. P. Sept. 3, 1917, [Convention date]. Trays, dishes, and containers for daylight developing &c.-A tank 1 for daylight treatment of films and plates in separate envelopes, such as are described in Specification 120,572, [Class 98 (i), Photographic cameras &c.], has a cover 4 comprising a frame carrying cushions 5, the envelopes being placed between the cushions so as to hang within the tank and with the tongues of their shutters projecting above the cushions. A cover 7 having incisions 8 is then slid into position above the cushions so that each pair of incisions is above the middle of each cushion, as shown in plan in Fig, 4. The tank is filled with developer through a funnel 3 and tube 2, and the tongues are drawn up so as to expose the films, &c. After development the tank is emptied by detaching the tube 2 from the funnel 3 and turning it downwards. The tube is again attached to the funnel and the tank is filled with fixing solu. tion. The fixed films &c. may be washed by removing them from the envelopes and hanging them from a clip 9, Fig. 5, which replaces the cover above the tank. The tube 2 is used as an overflow channel during washing. The cushions may consist of soft rubber cylinders on hard cores 6 of rectangular section. Alternatively, they may be curved longitudinally as shown in Fig. 8, and the use of the cover 7 may then be omitted. The tank may be wedge shaped, and the funnel and tube may be replaced by their equivalent within the tank.
