Abstract

1,190,187. Control of stepping motors. SIEMENS A.G. 3 April, 1969 [3 April, 1968], No. 17668/69. Heading H2J. A stepping motor is supplied from a D.C. source through a control unit which energizes the motor windings in synchronism with control pulses from an interpolator. A frequencyvoltage converter is also controlled by the pulse train and is connected to the D.C. source so that the voltage applied to the motor changes with the frequency. The voltage may be maintained constant at low frequencies, and rise linearly with increasing frequencies. The motor is coupled to the control valve of an hydraulic torque amplifier associated with a tool bench, a follow-up control ensuring that the valve follows the movement of the amplifier.
