Abstract

1,189,855. Diffuser or mixing packages. E. J. POITRAS. 31 May, 1967 [31 May, 19661, No. 25120/67. Heading B8C. A package comprises a flexible storage container and a dispensing container, the storage container being at least partially enclosed by the dispensing container and having a notch in the enclosed portion so as to be frangible whereby its contents are poured into the dispensing container either for diffusion through the walls of the latter or for mixing with another material prior to discharge. The package may be used to diffuse insecticides or to mix epoxy resins, resins and fillers, colours &c. Agents for producing a warm shaving lather may be so packaged. In one embodiment, sealed storage container 13 is enclosed within an outer bag 12 of more resilient material, there being no free space between the inner walls of the bag 12 and the container 13. The latter has a tear notch 24 in its seal and attached tabs 23 which may be gripped through the walls of the bag 12 and pulled apart. The extra resilience of the outer container permits tearing open of the inner, the contents of which flows out for diffusion through the material of the outer container. A slit 19 permits hanging from a support. In another form, the container 13 is enclosed only at its lower end which is forked and notched at 32, 33 for opening. A number of storage containers, e.g. of different sizes, may be enclosed in one dispensing container, Fig. 6 (not shown), for opening selectively to produce a desired mix with an ingredient in the latter.
