1,188,296. Polyglycolic acid filaments. AMERICAN CYANAMID CO. 14 April, 1967 [4 May, 1966; 15 June, 1966], No. 17374/67. Heading B5B. [Also in Division C3] Polyglycolic acid filaments are obtained by (a) directly melt spinning at 205‹ to 235‹ C. a melt obtained by polymerizing glycolide in the presence of an alcohol (b) quenching the resulting filaments to about 25‹ C., e.g. in a water bath and (c) drawing them to about 5 times their original length.
