1,187,640. Sliding clasp fasteners for bags. ASF GLEITVERSCHLUSS G.m.b.H. 17 Nov., 1967 [3 Dec., 1966], No. 52481/67. Heading E2S. A sliding clasp fastener of plastics material comprises two fastener strips 1, 2 Fig. 1a, the end of each formed into interengageable profiles 3, 5 and one of which can be connected to the front wall of a bag 4 or the like while the other fastener strip 2 has a bentback extension 6 for joining the strip to the rear wall 7 of the bag. Modifications comprise a spacing strip (10) Fig. 2 (not shown) or a bead (13) Fig. 3 (not shown) formed at the transition from one fastener strip to its extension. The profiles may take the form of interengageable hooks e.g. 16, 20 Fig. 1b reinforced in the closed position by backing webs e.g. 24. Various embodiments of the profiles based on a mushroom-like male component are illustrated.
