Abstract

1,187,235. Telephone sub-station circuits. D. T. WAYTE. 21 Nov., 1968 [23 Nov., 1967], No. 53284/67. Heading H4K. A telephone sub-set has a non-contactmaking switch that prevents the making of outgoing calls but is such that in response to ringing current the loop can be made to answer incoming calls. The loop is normally broken by a silicon-controlled rectifier SCR which isolates the cradle switch contacts. A rectifier R detects ringing current to switch SCR on and allow the cradle switch contacts to make the loop in answering a call. An authorized person can set up outgoing calls by means of a locking mechanism which enables the cradle switch contacts to make the loop. Outgoing calls may be established by use of a coin release mechanism. A triac may be used in place of a siliconcontrolled rectifier.
