Abstract

1,186,887. Magnetic tape recording and playback. MECHANIKAI LABORATORIUM. 21 April, 1967 [21 April, 1966], No. 18595/67. Heading G5R. Separately withdrawable units are mounted on a frame by means of plug-in contacts, the apparatus including at least four units selected from the following:-winding, head, capstan, control, connecting, tape-guiding, and switching and checking or testing units. In an editing arrangement (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) the tape may be fed selectively to either of two take-up reels (10, 11), one or other reel-driving motor (19, 20) being energized according to which of two pairs of contacts (16, 17) is closed by a pivoted arm (15) carrying a tapeguiding roller (12). In another arrangement (Fig. 5, not shown), in order to stabilize tape tension a control circuit for the drive motor (27) of the supply reel (9) includes a variable condenser (23) of which the movable plate is mounted on a pivoted arm (21) carrying a tape-guiding roller, one plate of the condenser being connected to the output of the bias oscillator (24).
