Abstract

1,185,893. Artificial aggregate. A. KOCH. 21 March, 1967 [29 July, 1966], No. 13212/67. Heading C1H. Artificial aggregate for radiation protection concrete comprises cement bonded granular inorganic materials of which at least a portion has a specific gravity of at least 4, e.g. boron compounds. The aggregate can be treated with superheated steam at 8-15 atmospheres gauge. Sand, gravel, crushed stone, steel sand, borite, magnetite, haematite, limonite, ilmenite, ferrosilicon, ferrophosphorus, chromium slag, lead slag, metallic iron, serpentine, asbestos and bauxite may also be included in the concretes as aggregate.
