1,185,509. Pesticidal compositions containing 3, 5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxybenylidene compounds. SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO. Ltd. 20 Sept., 1967 [22 Sept., 1966; 25 Oct., 1966], No. 42855/67. Heading A5E. A fungicidal and/or insecticidal composition contains a solid carrier, surfactant or binder and a compound of formula: wherein R<SP>1</SP> is H, CN, CO 2 R<SP>3</SP> or COR<SP>4</SP>; R<SP>2</SP> is CN, NO 2 , CO 2 R<SP>3</SP> or COR<SP>4</SP>; R<SP>3</SP> is H or C 1 to C 4 alkyl and R<SP>4</SP> is C 1 to C 4 alkyl. Optionally other active ingredients are present and specified are Blasticidin S, Kasugamycin, O, O-di Et-S-benzylphosphorothioate, O-Et-S-benzylphenylphosphonothioate, O, O-diMe-O-(3- methyl-4-nitrophenyl phosphorothioate, copper compounds, organomercury compounds, organo arsenic compounds, organo sulphur compounds, Streptomycin, chloramphenicol, cellocidin, BHC, parathion, O, O-dimethyl-S- (1, 2-diethoxycarbonyl ethyl) phosphorodithioate, EPN, Dimethoate, DDT, Endrin, pyrethrin, allethrin, Neo-Pynamin (Trade Mark), dimethylphenyl-N-methyl carbamate and iron methylarsonate. The method claim includes the application of the active compounds per se.
