1,183,266. Shield for number-plates. D. H. OLLETT. 3 Sept., 1968 [8 Aug., 1968], No. 38016/68. Heading G5C. A flexible transparent shield adapted for fitting over a vehicle number-plate has a rear wall formed with an opening X through which the number plate may be inserted. As described, a ridge Z for forming a weather seal between the shield itself and the vehicle body (or other support surface) when the number plate is fastened to the latter is provided. Bolt threads protruding from the rear of the number plate are passed through holes H each surrounded by an annular sealing ridge S.
