Abstract

1,181,910. Twin spindle drilling machine. GREEN PENNANT ENG. CO. Ltd. 23 Aug., 1968; No. 40370/68. Heading B3C. A drilling-machine comprises two transversely spaced drilling spindles 8, 9, support means 3 therefor including a transversely operable slide member 10 operable to positions wherein each individual spindle is in line with a workpiece and control means for sequentially operating the spindles and for bringing the second spindle into line with the workpiece between the spindle operations. The control means also returns the slide to its initial position after the second spindle operation, mechanical deadstops ensuring correct positioning. The control gear, slide traversing and spindle operation are pneumatically operated and the drill head 3 is vertically-adjustable by a screw operated by a handle 4.
