Abstract

1,181,470. Bumper bar assembly. DR. ING. h.c.F. PORSCHE K.G. 17 Dec., 1968 [9 March, 1968], No. 59845/68. Heading B7J. A motor vehicle has a bumber bar assembly comprising a bumper bar 5 of generally U- section of synthetic material connected to a vehicle end panel 10 by means of springs 9, and deformable members 17, 18 mounted on the vehicle body above and below the bumper bar. The springs 9 are attached to the bar 5 at reinforced regions 6 by bolts 7, 8 embedded in the bar and nuts 11, 12. The members 17, 18 are made of synthetic material and may be of expanded material and hollow, or may be of thin sheet metal, and are attached to a projecting portion 13 of the end panel 10, and a splash panel 19 respectively.
