Abstract

A soap cake has a support or carrier 17 inserted in a groove having a greater depth than the carrier, so that as the soap is used up, the carrier sinks into the groove and does not inconveniently project from the surface. The carrier may be in the form of a ring on one or both sides of the soap cake, or any other shape suitable to provide a stable resting surface (e.g. cruciform or H-shaped), or alternatively may be made of a magnetic material for use with a conventional magnetic soap holder.
