Abstract

1,181,246. Drying, fire-proofing and surface-treating wood. HAGER A.B. 28 April, 1967, No. 19616/67. Heading D1P. [Also in Division F4] Wood which has been treated with a solution of a preserving agent in water or an organic solvent is simultaneously dried and surface-treated by immersion in a hot liquid optionally containing a hardening or fireproofing agent. Drying is at 60-90‹C under reduced pressure. The hot liquid may be paraffin oil, wax, chloroparaffin, linseed oil, or resin. An oil may contain chloroparaffin, wax, resin, tall oil, naphthenic acid, or tricresyl phosphate. After removal of the hot liquid, the wood may be steamed.
