To prevent moisture in the ambient air passing through an air curtain and entering a cold store the usual air curtain 3 is supplemented by a second curtain passing from a jet 7 to a collecting device 8, the air for the second curtain passing through a de-humidifier 5; a fan is provided in the de-humidifier. The second curtain of dry air absorbs all moisture passing through the curtain 3.
