Abstract

1,179,743. Flocculating. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 18 March, 1968 [18 April, 1967], No. 17782/67. Headings C1A and C1C. Dispersions of finely-divided solids, such as soot, in water-immiscible liquids such as naphthalenes, benzene, toluene, xylene, hexane or heptane are flocculated by agitating the suspension in contact with water and a watersoluble salt which is surface active and is formed by reaction in situ. Examples of salts are given.
