1,179,259. Anti-slip attachments for vehicle wheels. C. PAGANELLI. 4 Dec., 1967 [10 Dec., 1966], No. 55151/67. Heading B7C. An anti-slip attachment for a wheel comprises discs 1, 3 defining a circumferentiallyextending groove therebetween, disc 1 being fixed to the wheel and disc 3 being prevented from rotation by arm 7, and a phirality of plates 5 each carried at one end of an arm 4 the other end of which is slidable in the groove. The arms follow rotation of the wheel so that the plates, which are wider than the wheel, fall successively in front of the wheel. The attachment may be put out of use by moving stops connected to a fluid-actuated jack 6, the stops holding all the arms in the raised position. In a twin-wheel arrangement, the discs are positioned between the wheels and each arm carries a plate spanning the two wheels.
