1,178,587. Measuring temperature: pressure gauges: gas meters. PINTSCH BAMAG A.G. Nov.20, 1967 [Dec.23, 1966], No.52740/67. Headings G1D; G1L and G1R. Apparatus for measuring the pressure and temperature of a gas flowing in a conduit 14 for compensation of a gas volume measured by a gas meter comprises a gas-filled sealed bellows 1, with an end plate 6 which moves in accordance with changes in pressure and temperature, the bellows being contained in a housing 3 filled with a liquid 2 which assumes the temperature of the gas in the conduit 14 and is subject to its pressure by way of a duct 3a, the movements of the plate 6 being limited by flanges 4, 5 in the housing 3, the flange having sealing means 4a, 5a so that at the end positions of the movement of the plate 6 a volumne of the liquid 2 is sealed off in the housing 3, further changes being accomodated by expansion or contraction of a gas-filled bellows 8 in a chamber 12 connected to the housing 3 by a duct 3b to prevent damage to the bellows 1. The bellows 8 may be replaced by a spring or weight loaded diaphragm or by a weight loaded piston, and the movement of the plate 6 are coupled mechanically to an indicator (not shown). An alternative embodiment is described in which the chamber 12 containing the bellows 8 is disposed inside the bellows 1.
