Abstract

1,178,473. Fungicides containing malodinitrile derivatives. CIBA Ltd. 2 March, 1967 [21 March, 1966], No. 9903/67. Heading A5E. [Also in Division C2] Fungi or plants are combatted by applying to a crop area a preparation containing a compound of the formula: where R' is H or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms and R is phenyl which may be substituted by halogen, alkyl or alkoxy of 1-4 carbon atoms, hydroxy, nitro, alkylamino, dialkylamino, dibenzylamino, or -O-CH 2 -O- or R is diphenyl, phenylethenyl or cyclohexene, together with a suitable carrier. The preparation may contain a solid carrier, a solvent, a diluent, a dispersing agent, a wetting agent, an adhesive and other pesticides or herbicides. The preparations have broad biocidal action and may be used for combatting many vegetable and animal pests and as herbicides. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,139,138.
