A method of selectively killing meadow foxtail growing with winter barley comprises applying to the ground and/or crop at the stage when the barley has put out at least one tiller and the meadow foxtail has put out not more than three tillers, a weed-killer selected from (i) 3-cyclohexyl-5, 6-trimethylene-uracil, (ii) 5- chloro-3-t-butyl-6-methyluracil and (iii) 5- bromo-3-s-butyl-6-methyluracil, (i) being applied at 0.5 to 1.5 Kg per hectare and (ii) or (iii) at 0.2 to 0.8 Kg. per hectare.
