Apparatus for attachments to a tap comprises a container I having triangular projections 11 to support a detergent block or capsule 10, and detachably connected to a cap 2 having a depending skirt 6 providing a channel 12 through which water can overflow if it is supplied at a rate greater than can be discharged through the perforated base 9. As described, the container has convex sides and concave ends (see Fig. 2, not shown).
