A method for collecting of earth worms in the surface of ground for removal and disposal or for collection and use as bait, comprises applying water containing a surfactant over an area of soil to bring the earth worms to the surface. In examples, the surfactants used are sodium alkyl and alkyl aryl sulphonates and ethoxylated alkylolamides.
