Abstract

1,173,551. Camera shutters. PRONTORWERK. ALFRED GAUTHIER G.m.b.H. March 22 1968 [April 29, 1967], No.13922/68. Heading G2A. An electronically timed camera shutter is generally of the same construction as is disclosed in Specification 1,168,696, especially the modification shown in Figs. 5-7 thereof. The current which energizes the electromagnet 11 is switched on about 5 milli-seconds before the shutter blades begin to open. Thus the field of the magnet is fully built up, hence assuring maximum attraction, before the magnet is required to hold the shutter in the open position. The battery circuit is closed to energize the magnet by a switch actuated by the shutter-driving mechanism, and a retarding mechanism delays the opening of the shutter.
