Abstract

1,172,931. Dish - washing composition. MARLES - KUHLMANN - WYANDOTTE. 2 Feb., 1967 [14 Feb., 1966], No. 5042/67. Heading C5D. [Also in Division C3] Automatic dish-washer compositions comprise a mixture of compounds of the formulµ R-O(A)H where R is a linear alkyl group of 10-18 carbon atoms with the proviso that 70% by wt. of R's contain 12-16 carbon atoms, A is a mixture of oxyethylene and oxypropylene units of between 55 and 80% of the total weight and where the oxypropylene to oxyethylene ratio is from 0À85 : 1 to 2À75 : 1, together with inorganic salts, such as sodium tripolyphosphate, alkaline builders, such as sodium metasilicate, and chlorinated inorganic compounds such as chlorinated trisodium phosphate. Suitable R groups are those derived from alcohols such as decyl, undecyl, lauryl, tridecyl, tetradecyl, pentadecyl, cetyl, heptadecyl, stearyl, hydrogenated tallow alcohol and mixtures thereof. Small amounts of branched alcohols such as a mixture of C 12-15 alcohols may be incorporated.
