Abstract
1,170,749. Looped multifilament yarns. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 8 Dec., 1966 [9 Dec., 1965 (2)], Nos. 52331/65 and 52332/65. Heading DID, D1F, DIN and D1W. The method of producing a continuous filament yarn described in Specification 1,046,197 -in which freshly extruded filaments are forwarded by a fluid jet to a hollow, rotating body and a yarn comprising an assembly of serially connected loops is withdrawn therefrom-is modified by withdrawing the yarn through a stationary tube to reduce the number of loops in the peripheral region and cause the peripheral loops to extend substantially parallel to the yarn. The yarn may be withdrawn from the hollow body through the base thereof as in Specification 1,046,197, with the tube extending into the base, or from the top of the body with the serially-connected loops being everted.
