In a motor vehicle having an automatic transmission controlled by two conventionally disposed pedals, a third pedal, inoperative from a control point of view is provided to support the left foot. The dummy pedal, which is of the treadle type and is urged upwardly by a spring, may be arranged to actuate the headlamp dip switch.
