Abstract

Saddles. - In the production of cycle and similar saddle tops from composite blanks consisting of layers of fabric and india-rubber, the rear of one of the mould or die members is provided with stops or abutments to prevent relative sliding displacement of the moulds under pressure. As shown, the stops b, c are attached to, or formed upon, the rear portion of the female mould a, and they are provided with adjusting or setting screws d, d<1>, whereby, within small limits, adjustment can be made to suit different thicknesses of blank. The female mould is preferably constructed as described in Specification 115,305, and the male mould e is formed with a flange or shroud h, which is of such a width that it will make contact only with the soft displaceable metal a<2> of the female mould.
