Abstract

1169769 Electrical dividing apparatus COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE 17 Oct 19 [18 Oct 1966] 47323/67 Headings G4D D7X D6Y D6C1 and D6C2 A value y is divided by a value x/k by registering x/k in a memory and feeding y into a counter which resets each time a coincidence gate operates, the number of said operations being registered in another counter. As applied to indicating how the power of a nuclear reactor varies, the pulses detected from the reactor in the preceding period (of say 10 seconds) are shifted from counter 1 by clock 21 to a memory 10a, divided by a power of 10 and moved to memory 10b. The pulses in the ensuing period are fed to counters I and 3, the attainment of the number in 10b stepping on a further counter 14 and resetting 3. At the end of the period the clock 21 shifts the number in 14 to a memory 19 and display 20. Allowing for the factor k the display 20 shows whether or not the power has increased or decreased. This is also indicated by the count in 14 reaching or not a terminal connecting to a sign circuit 7 so that + or - is indicated at 25. In the case of a decrease circuit 7 operates a complementing circuit 23 so that the display 20 is properly negative.
