Abstract

1,169,445. Securing coils for dynamo-electric machines. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. 27 Feb., 1967 [28 Feb., 1966], No. 9218/67. Heading H2A. In a ferromagnetic laminated slot wedge for electrical machines, the stack of laminations of which the wedge is formed has a longitudinally extending groove and is provided at each end with a rigid end piece; a tension bolt is located in the groove and extends through bores in the end pieces, so that when the bolt is tightened the laminations are pressed together. As shown, laminations 1 forming a slot wedge and having recesses 6 together forming a groove, are secured and pressed together between two end pieces 2 by a tension bolt 3 which engages the end pieces. Preferably, the end pieces 2 or the tension bolt 3, or both, are made of material which is a poor conductor or is non-conducting, electrically, and/or non- magnetic. Preferably, as shown, the parts on either side of recess 6 are connected by a narrow web portion 7. Preferably, the whole wedge is electrically insulated. The recess 6 may have a cross-section which is circular (fitting the bolt 3), instead of trapezoidal as shown, it may communicate by a slot with the top of the wedge.
