Abstract

1,166,721. Capacitors. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. 8 Feb., 1967 [1 March, 1966], No. 4505/67. Heading H1M. The dielectric in a capacitor comprises a continuous film formed on one of the electrodes by ultra-violet surface photopolymerization of a gaseous material selected from ethylene, 2,4- hexadiene, 1,5-hexadiene, methyl methacrylate hexachlorobutadiene, tetrafluoroethylene, trifluoromonochloroethylene, monofluorotrichloroethylene, hexafluorobutadiene and acrylonitrile. Process details are as disclosed in Specification 1,119,735. As shown, the capacitor comprises a dielectric film 31 an electrode 27 and the second electrode is a metallized layer 32 on the film. To make a rolled capacitor, a further dielectric film may be applied to the second electrode. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,119,735.
